Jon Redwine, a songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist currently based in Los Angeles, CA, comes from a musical family: the great-nephew of legendary American jazz trumpeter and band leader Don Albert, he also grew up around an eclectic record collection, curated by his uncle Michael Redwine, previously a Promotions Executive at Interscope, Geffen, and A&M.
Writing songs at a young age and becoming a professional DJ at 13, Redwine went on to study music theory at the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, MN. In 2010, he created a mobile music platform called iFLYPT, an iPhone app that allows fans to remix and make their own version of hit songs. iFLYPT won awards at Le Web, Europe’s biggest tech conference, and a Microsoft Biz Spark Award in 2010.
With a genre-bending sound based on a heavy mix of live instruments, synths, and guitars, Redwine has recently produced the lead single for Tinashe (RCA) featuring Schoolboy Q, “2 On”, as well as worked with such varied artists as Afrojack, Mario (RCA), Bella Thorne (Hollywood Records), Nikki Sixx, Christina Milian (Cash Money) top Hip-Hop artists such as Twista, T-Pain, Waka Flocka Flame, Ludacris, Bun B, and many more.
